Bishop & Heintz, P.C. was formed as a professional corporation in 1988. Its senior members, Doug Bishop and Pat Heintz, reorganized the firm in 1992. Prior to that reorganization, both had been members of established Traverse City law firms for the previous decade. In May of 1994, the firm moved into the newly renovated Bishop & Heintz Building, a Traverse City landmark (formerly the Veterans of Foreign Wars/Bohemian Hall Building). The firm has always received the highest professional and ethical rating available through a nationally recognized service which includes peer evaluation. Although Bishop & Heintz began with a primary focus in northwestern Michigan, the firm maintains a presence and practice throughout the State of Michigan and, in specified practice areas, represents clients throughout the United States.
Since its inception, the firm has more than tripled in size, with that expansion taking place in a manner calculated to best serve its clients and broaden the scope of its services.
